WHAT: The YMCA Adventure Guides (formerly Indian Princesses) program is designed for dads and their daughters (K-5th) to spend time together 3 times a year.

Arrival: A typical trip involves driving to a YMCA camp by 12:00PM on a Saturday where you get to do canoeing, archery, horseback riding, ropes course, crafts, etc.

Food: Dinner is provided for the girls in a large dining hall where “Swaps” (trading of toys/trinkets) precede dinner. Every campout has a big campfire with stories and s’mores.

Sleep: You sleep in 12-20 person cabins with your daughter(s) on standard bunk beds.

Return: You wake up Sunday morning and can do a few more hours of activities and head home around 11AM.  (you can arrive later or leave earlier if you need to.)  In the Winter, we go to a waterpark in Gurnee for a night instead of camping outdoors.

WHO: This program is open to dads and daughters (K-5th).

Our group has dads with kids attending a variety of different schools, primarily in Wilmette but we do have kids coming from Chicago and Milwaukee.

Our primary schools are:

Central, McKenzie, Bennett Day School, Avoca, Harper, Romona, Sears, St. Francis, St. Joseph and the YMCA calls us Vodyssey

**We are also open to dad with kids at schools that don’t currently have an established Adventure Guides group.
